Portuguese business aircraft handling company Safeport is welcoming private aviators, crews and passengers to its new executive lounge.
The new lounge, the biggest at Faro airport, offers 140m2 of luxury space for tired passengers or private crews to kick back and relax between flights or on stopovers.
The Safeport lounge boasts two luxury rooms with space for up to 10 guests each. The first is designed around crew needs, with an area for relaxing and socialising with a separate work area where computers are supplied. The second room is more intimate and is designed around passenger needs and comforts. It can be closed off for private meetings with a sliding door.
As well as the relaxation facilities there are two spacious restrooms, one having two separate toilet rooms. One restroom includes a shower facility, and all the amenities one would expect to find at a luxury hotel are available. The lounge also has a kitchen, which is fully equipped with a fridge, microwave, and dishwasher allowing preparation of light meals.
Finally, there is an operations room attached to the office area and a locker room for aircrews staff to get dressed and ready for departure. As well as the computer facilities the lounge also offers complimentary Wi-Fi, with two 65” televisions and a sound system for guests to enjoy on their stopover.
Speaking about the new facility, President Paulo Mirpuri said: “Everybody at Safeport is very happy with the new lounge area.
“We’re confident that Safeport has the best facility available now in Faro.
“As a company, we have 25-years of experience and have always worked hard to meet and surpass the expectations of even the most demanding customers.
“Our clients are top executives, government ministers, movie stars, famous musicians and sportsmen and women.
“Clients that are using private jets when going about their business expect the very best.
“We are committed to providing a complete, flexible, fast and personalised service at a competitive price.
“Also at the Faro lounge we have some of the friendliest, most professional and experienced staff in the country.”
Filipe Machado, Safeport’s supervisor in Faro explained that all services requested by clients were available.
“If a guest or client wants anything, then we will do our best to make sure it is here.
“Whether that is a particular newspaper, freshly cut flowers or special catering for dietary or medicinal needs, we strive to take care of all of our clients and provide the highest level of comfort and luxury while they are with us.
“Our guests seem to be very happy with the changes we have made. Many tell us that they like it because it feels more like being in a home than on an airport stopover.
“We have even been assured by our guests that this is the most tranquil lounge in Portugal. Indeed, a few times we have been told that there is no better airport lounge in Europe. We are very happy to be working here and meeting some really amazing people.
