Safeport, a renowned ground handling and passenger service provider, and ANA – Aeroportos de Portugal, the company responsible for managing 10 airports in Portugal, signed a protocol to actively drive third parties at Beja Airport towards achieving Net Zero carbon emissions by themselves and in a global collaboration.
The protocol, called The Stakeholder Partnership Plan, was signed by Paulo Mirpuri, Safeport’s President, Thierry Ligonnière, ANA Chief Executive Officer, and Maurício Nunes, Head of Beja Airport.
By signing, Safeport confirmed its enrolment in the Handling Working Group, where it contributed to discussing and setting actions and plans to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, in line with the industry technological evolution.
This Plan will not only encourage best practices regarding emissions reduction at the airport level, but it will also enable the stakeholders enrolled to meet their internal goals and objectives concerning environmental performance and collaboratively work towards future contribution to global positive mobility.
